Our Recommended Treatment
Protect and nourish your timber building
Barrettine Wood Protective Treatment is the product we recommend for all our pressure-treated timber buildings. It’s an oil and solvent-based wood sealer that penetrates deep into the timber, repelling water and providing long-lasting protection against UV damage, mould and algae.
All Northwest Sheds buildings are supplied with one coat of clear base treatment. We strongly recommend applying 2-3 coats of Barrettine Wood Protective Treatment as soon as possible after installation — and annually thereafter — to keep your building looking great and fully protected.
Available in 8 colours including Light Brown, Dark Brown, Clear, Red Cedar, Holly Green, Golden Brown, Black and Summer Tan — in 1 litre, 2.5 litre and 5 litre sizes.

Why Barrettine Wood Protective Treatment?
Deep Penetrating Formula
Oil and solvent-based for deeper penetration into the timber — leaving a transparent or translucent finish where the natural grain is still visible.
UV Fade Resistant
Colour pigments with good UV fade resistance protect your building from sun damage and keep the colour looking fresh for longer.
Water Repellent
Superb quality water repellent resins reduce moisture absorption, helping prevent decay, swelling and twisting of the timber over time.
Mould & Algae Protection
Contains a surface biocide film to help prevent the growth of mould and algae — keeping your building looking clean and well maintained.
Safe When Dry
Harmless to beneficial insects and plants once dry — safe to use in gardens with children and pets.
Low Odour Formula
Low odour ready to use formulation — easy to apply by brush, roller or spray with a drying time of around 12 hours in normal conditions.
